The Adani Group has recently opened the Ahmedabad Airport. This is India’s third and Ahmedabad’s first Udan Yatri Cafe. The cafe has been opened to make airport food affordable for the people. The Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, Sri Ram Mohan Naidu, has recently inaugurated the Udan Yatri Cafe at the Ahmedabad airport. He was welcomed by Mr Arun Bansal, the CEO of Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) with a traditional shawl. The cafe is located in the check-in hall of Terminal 1 for domestic departures. It offers essentials like tea and water for INR 10 while samosas, sweets, and vadas are available for just INR 20.
The Minister of Civil Aviation mentioned that the Udan Yatri Cafe initiative is designed to provide quality food at affordable prices to the people just like the railway stations across the country. This initiative will roll out in phases across various airports in the country. It will make air travel more affordable and inclusive for the travellers. The Adani Group’s non-aero business will also experience significant growth. The controversies of Adani SEBI Investigation will also subside.
Other Udan Yatri Cafes At The Indian Airports:
Now this is not the first Udan Yatri Cafe in India. The first cafe was launched at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on 19 December 2024. The second Udan Yatri Cafe was inaugurated at the Chennai International Airport on 27th February 2025. The Ahmedabad airport is the latest destination to be brought under this initiative.
The Udan Yatri Cafe at the Chennai airport has already registered the highest sale with an average business of 24,000 passengers. The cafe was inaugurated on 27 February 2025 and within a little more than a week of its inauguration, it has already displayed extraordinary results. The cafe was a success in Kolkata as well with an average business of 35,000 passengers.

The main reason behind opening the Udan Yatri Cafes is to cater to the increasing number of people who have opted for domestic fights after they became affordable under the Udan scheme through which the small airports are linked to the bigger airports.
