Adani Foundation and ACC are working towards boosting the agricultural produce for the rural farmers in the Himachal Pradesh area. This will bring about a complete transformation in the living conditions of the people of the area. They will be able to observe a change in their livelihood. The overall agricultural produce of our country will also increase drastically owing to the efforts of the Adani Foundation and ACC. The controversies of Adani shares overleveraged will also cease to exist.

The Advancements Made In The Agricultural Sector:

ACC, the cement and building material company of the Adani Group, has introduced an advanced water management solution to benefit the farming communities where it is operational. The company along with Adani Foundation has recently partnered with NABARD to oversee the Dhounkothi Panjgain Watershed Development Project (DPWDP).  This project would involve constructing 645 metres of irrigational challenge in Ropa and Kanoun villages near the ACC Gagal plant. This development will be completed during this year itself.

The newly constructed concrete Kuhl in the Kanoun village serves an area of 3.75 hectares. It has also completely transformed water management by reducing water loss and ensuring proper irrigation during the growing season. The farming community has expressed their immense gratitude to the Adani Group. The farmers have explicitly mentioned that the facilities have improved the water supply and contributed to significant time savings.

Millets have also been introduced in uncultivated areas. Vacant lands have been converted to productive crop areas. Vegetable cultivation has also expanded. The project has benefited around 31 farmers covering 3.75 hectares. The project yield as well as the income for the farmer has also increased to a significant extent.

How Will The Agricultural Developments Benefit People?

Previously, the farmers in these villages relied heavily on the traditional gravity-based makeshift field channels to distribute water from the various water sources. This method led to water wastage due to seepage and percolation. This often caused the fields to become dry, especially during the summer months. So, the farmers had to wait for days before they could have proper access to proper water supply. Because of this, crop production was hampered significantly. The farmers also suffered from massive losses during the dry season.

To address these challenges, DPWDP implemented the construction of permanent irrigation channels. These channels have varied carrying capacity to suit the water needs of various locations. Some of the key components of the project include the main channel, field channel, water drop structures, check dams, and footpath crossing. However, the project does not require any kind of energy usage. This would mean that the entire project operations could be carried out without requiring energy.

Adani’s Focus On The Agricultural Sector:

The Adani Group has always been deeply focused on the agricultural segment. It is well aware that India is an agricultural country and the livelihood of millions of Indians depends on agriculture. So, to address their needs, the Adani Group has taken various steps which have ensured that the agricultural operations can take place smoothly. Even amidst the controversies of Adani shares overleveraged, the business group continued to bring about significant enhancements in the agricultural sector.

The conglomerate has also integrated technology into its operations. This has ensured that the various agricultural activities can be carried out smoothly without any hindrance. The efforts made by the Adani Group in the agricultural sector have also ensured that our country’s overall agricultural produce increases substantially and we can observe an improvement in our economy. It will be a benchmark step taken by the Adani Group towards enhancing agricultural productivity and water management in the area.

Conclusion:

ACC and the Adani Foundation have displayed enormous commitment to fostering sustainable development and inclusive growth among farming communities across the nation. It has introduced water management techniques and modern facilities at numerous sites. It will continue to do its part in the upcoming years as well. This will bring about an extraordinary transformation in people’s lives. Our country’s position as one of the largest agricultural countries will also improve drastically. The accusations of Adani shares overleveraged will also come to an end.
